Good Neighbours on the Frank Randle day in Blackpool

The 6th Great Frank Randle Day

Joyce, Arthur and Bernard from Chorlton Good Neighbours took part in the 6th Annual Frank Randle celebration day was held on 7th July 2012. It started off with a visit to his grave at the Carleton Cemetery near Blackpool by members of the Manchester based Cuthbert Club. After a cup of tea in the cemetery cafe we paid our respects at Frank's grave where flowers were laid, a bottle of guiness was poured by Chris Lee (aka Mr Cuthbert) and tributes given by actors Michael Leader (of East Ender's fame)  and Steve King. We also visited Norman Evan's grave whicvh has  a headstone in the shape of a wall and Steve gave a brief impression of Norman talking 'over the garden wall'

The visit to the cemetery was followed by a showing of three Frank Randle films at the end of the North Pier in Blackpool. This was the highlight of the day which was commemorating the the northern comedian on the anniversary of his death.

Followed by ukelele performances and a walk through Blackpool in the early evening as the hen parties got into full swing. What a day!

This is a still taken from the beginning of Frank Randle's short film "Bella's Birthday". It was produced by Mancunian films and as you can see , the opening shot was clearly taken outside the Horse & Jockey pub in Chorlton
